Language is fluid and constantly changing. It can be daunting knowing how to address people, making sure we don’t make a misstep or cause offence. It is hard to decide when it is ok to use banter and when we need to be more professional. 

This course aims to help with those worries, making it clearer about what words and phrases are now being used and why others may have evolved to become offensive. It will also give guidance on how to address certain groups of people and where and when banter is useful.

We welcome anyone who wants or needs to develop their understanding of how language is evolving and how this should impact how they speak to others.

  • Who is this course suitable for?

    The course is suitable to staff at all levels of an organisation, especially those who interact with the public, and we encourage whole teams to attend the course.

  • What size group is a group booking suitable for?

    We would suggest a group of up to 10 attendees for a group booking, but please contact us if you have a slightly larger group in mind.

    For the individual attendee dates we would still encourage small groups from the same employer to attend together so that you are able to fully engage in the discussions throughout the course.

  • Where is the course delivered?

    We are very keen to welcome you to Kiwi's headquarters in Southampton, please see the location details below.

    If this is not practical, we able to travel to you. There may be an extra travel charge for those who are further afield. Please indicate on your booking form where you would like the course to take place.

  • I cannot make the dates given, can I request a date?

    If you are looking for a corporate group booking and are unable to attend the scheduled dates, please request a suitable date using the "Request a Date" button and we will try our best to accommodate your query.

    Unfortunately we are unable to offer other dates for individual attendees.
